Birthday Party Information

Our birthday parties are scheduled on Thursday and Friday afternoons and Saturdays. We may also have availability on half days and some vacation days. We do book a full two hours for your party and parties generally last about 1 ½ to 2 hours. This allows 90 minutes for the projects and 30 minutes for refreshments. Please consult us about the projects to make the best use of your time here.

Our parties are for children ages 7+. We ask for a minimum of 6 children and a maximum of 12 children per party. We are happy to accommodate larger groups, please inquire.


If you feel we did a great job please know gratuities are gratefully accepted.

An automatic gratuity of 15% will be added to parties of 12 children or more.


The fee is $45 per child (making 3 projects) or $50 per child (making 4 projects). We will accept smaller groups, however, our minimum fee is $270 (for three projects).

Our parties are held in our class/party room in the Medway Mill. We have enough room for the children, our hostesses/helpers and the parents of the birthday child. Other parents CANNOT congregate in the party room during those two hours! We ask the parents of guests to please drop your child off and feel free to browse in Molly’s retail shop!

 Aprons are provided, but sometimes the kids do get color on them. It generally washes out, but better not to wear your "Sunday best".

We do start the parties promptly, as we normally schedule two parties per day and need time to clean and set up between parties. Please advise your guests that arriving 5-10 minutes before the party is  welcomed!

  • We ask that you provide us with final project choices and a final head count with a list of guests' names within 72 hours of the party.

  • The children get to take home the products they make, so no need for goody bags! 

  • You may do snacks, pizza and/or cake here as well if you wish. We provide tablecloths, but you will need to bring drinks, plates, cutlery, etc for food served.

  • If you wish to serve pizza, we recommend Papa Gino’s (508-533-4301) or Supreme Pizza (508-533-7723). Both deliver right to Molly’s!

PLEASE NOTE: All of the products we make are natural, safe and generally hypoallergenic. However, if any parent has any concerns about specific allergies or ingredients, feel free to call Ann at 508-533-3800 or email mollysapothecary@gmail.com. Please have the guests’ parents inform us of any allergy concerns BEFORE the day of the party. It can be difficult to make last minute changes.

We are located in the Medway Mill 163 Main St. Suite 5 Medway, MA 02053. Our entrance and parking area is located in the rear of the mill.

PROJECT CHOICES:

The time needed to complete each project is listed. Keep in mind that this can vary due to group size, age of children, etc. 

 The birthday child gets to select 3-4 from the following list of projects for everyone to make.

Melt & Pour Soap: This is a vegetable glycerin soap base that we melt. The children get to choose a scent and color. We only use high-quality, cosmetic-grade fragrance oils in our projects. This project usually takes about 30 minutes. Ages 7+

Foaming Bath Salts: A fun project that the children get to scent, color and even add a little glitter to customize their own bath treat. This project usually takes about 30 minutes. Ages 7+

 Make Your Own Ice Cream “Sundae” Sugar Scrub: The birthday child gets to make the whipped sugar body scrub. They then scoop the scrub into individual “sundae” cups for all of the guests. Then, each child can decorate their own “sundae”. This project usually takes about 30 minutes. Ages 10+

Perfume Spray or Botanical Roll-on:  The children get to select either a spray or roll on container and choose  from several different fragrance oils in order to create their very own signature scent. This project usually takes about 15 minutes. Ages 7+ for roll on, 9+ for spray.

 Body Parfait:  We provide a rich body cream that the children will add scent and color to and then layer with aloe gel for a beautiful body treat! This project usually takes about 20-25 minutes. Ages 7+

Hand and Body Lotion: We provide a light body cream that the children then will be able to add scent, color and glitter to create a custom blend just the way they like it! This project usually takes about 20-25 minutes. Ages 7+

 Bubble Bath Cupcake: This is a really great project for children that don’t mind getting their hands a little messy! Using a special "dough", the children create a tub treat that they can choose a color and scent for. This project usually takes about 30 minutes. Ages 7+

 Glitter Shower Gel:  With this project, the children will add scent, color, and glitter to a shower gel base. Who doesn't love glitter! This is usually a 20 minute project. Ages 7+

 Lava Lip Gloss:  Remember those retro lava lamps? Well these tasty lip glosses are as much fun to make as they are to use! The kids will add color and flavor to a glycerin and castor oil base to make their very own lava lip gloss. This is a 15 minute project. Ages 7+

 Smelly Jellies: This is a fun, safe, air room freshener project that is a great alternative to a candle. Kids can customize with color and scent. This is a 20 minute project. Ages 7+

Hand Sanitizer: The children will get to choose a scent to make their own spray hand sanitizer in a convenient travel sized container. Perfect for a pocket or backpack. This is a 15 minute project. Ages 8+

Shimmer Mist:  A fun and very popular project, the children will get to color and scent a spray-on body mist. This project takes 20 minutes. Ages 8+



Projects for Children 10 and up

 Shower Lotion Bar:  This wonderful  lotion bar is full of moisturizing butters and exfoliants. A favorite product! This project takes about 15-20 minutes.  Ages 10+

 Lip Scrub:  Make a yummy flavored lip scrub  This project usually takes about 15 minutes. Ages 10+

Lip Gloss:  This is a more “sophisticated” lip gloss recommended for tweens. This project takes about 15 minutes and is recommended as a 4th project. Ages 10+

Mineral Makeup Eyeshadow:  Choose from different colors to blend and make two mineral eyeshadows. This project takes 30-45 minutes. Ages 13+
