WHEN IS THE STORE OPEN?
We are open Tuesday-Friday 10-6 and Saturday 10-5. We are a small business so always a good idea to call us at (508) 533-3800 ahead of time if you are making a long drive to make sure we are open.
HOW LONG IS YOUR TURNAROUND TIME FOR ONLINE ORDERS?
If the items are in stock we are able to fulfill the orders fairly quickly. Our team member who handles shipping is here Tuesday - Friday. We are closed Sundays and Mondays so if you place an order late on a Friday or over the weekend, we won't even see the order until we are in on Tuesday. Sometimes, the items need to be made, which increases the time it takes to fulfill the order. Our items are handmade in small batches in Medway, MA.
IS MOLLY'S ORGANIC?We use all natural and organic ingredients that are available to us. We do not use phthalates (plasticizers commonly used in some cheaper fragrance oils), parabens (type of preservative) or sulfates (a type of surfactant). We use fair trade butters and ethically harvested ingredients. We never have or will test on animals and we will not purchase ingredients from companies that do.
WHO IS MOLLY?Molly is Ann and Margaret’s mom who they lost to breast cancer in 2004. Molly was a brilliant, fierce, loyal woman who would be more than proud of her girls and the products they have created.
DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS?Yes! We do make most of our own products at our Medway location. However, if it is something that we feel is out of our wheelhouse (hand sanitizers, shower gel), we do use a lab manufactured base. We will always tell you which products fit into this category. Often it takes us some time to find a base that we are truly happy with and willing to stand behind.
WHY DID YOU START MOLLY'S?Molly’s Apothecary exists because Ann’s kids suffer from skin conditions. 20 years ago this started as a hobby/passion to help her children but it rapidly became a full time career.
DO YOU USE PRESERVATIVES?We do use preservatives and we believe they are critical. Without them we could expose clients to bacteria. Many, many companies use preservatives but they “greenwash” them. We believe it is more important to be honest and explain to our customers why preservatives are important.
